Justin Bieber Just Egged My House!! Am I Covered?

Occasionally, young pop stars go a little wild. It just happens.... but what if that pop star goes wild on you? Well, if a young pop star eggs your house, as Justin Bieber allegedly did to one of his neighbors, don't worry, there is coverage on your homeowners policy for damage caused by vandalism. The Special Cause of Loss form included in most homeowners policies includes coverage caused by vandalism. The home in Bieber's neighborhood received approximately $20,000 in damage from the eggs. If the homeowner had a $1,000 policy deductible, the homeowner would be able to collect $19,000 in claim payment from their insurance carrier for the damage.

Vandalism is also an included cause of loss in the Broad Cause of Loss and Basic Cause of Loss forms, so if your home is insured on an HO-2 or HO-1 policy form, there would still be coverage if some young millionaires go a little nuts on your house.
