First Selectman Mike Tetreau announced today that the Fairfield Board of Selectmen is extending the deadline for its 11th annual Employee and Fairfielder of the Year Awards to 12 pm on Friday, November 21, 2014. Any member of the public, including town and school employees, are encouraged to submit nominations to the First Selectman’s Office by 12 pm on Friday, November 21, 2014. Nomination criteria and forms for each award can be obtained in the First Selectman's Office in Independence Hall, 725 Old Post Road, or by visiting www.fairfieldct.org/bosawards. This page also lists previous winners.
An independent committee will review all submitted nomination forms and then recommend three finalists for each award to the Board of Selectmen which will select the two final winners. In December, the Board of Selectmen will present awards to two outstanding individuals—one Fairfield resident and one Town Employee.
First Selectman Tetreau said, “These awards have become a popular and rewarding tradition in Fairfield. They give our community an opportunity to highlight the many wonderful and devoted residents and employees who serve as the backbone to our great Town. I encourage individuals to nominate people in our community who you believe are deserving of these special awards.”
