Sexual Harassment and Connecticut Businesses

Public Act 92-85 required the state Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities to develop regulations that spell out the posting and training requirements of the law. The requirements are now contained within Sections 46a-54-200 through 46a-54-207 of the Connecticut regulations. Employers of three or more employees are required to post notices on the illegality of sexual harassment and the available legal remedies.

The notice also should include language that you develop, describing the employer's policies and procedures regarding sexual harassment and the disciplinary action that may be taken. A contact person at the place of employment for questions or reports involving sexual harassment must be designated.
